Our Mission
There is an old adage that says with solid roots, no tree fears the wind. At Take Root Occupational Therapy, we focus on developing a strong root system which will enable your child to grow and thrive. With this solid foundation, your child will be able to interact with people and the environment in a way that is meaningful for them.
What is Occupational Therapy?
The pediatric occupational therapist (OT) helps the child master the occupational of play, exploration, and learning. The OT is trained to evaluated the child and select developmentally appropriate activities that are child and family oriented. We can help children with the following : developmental delays, ADD/ADHD, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, Downs Syndrome, autism, mental health diagnosis, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and more.
About Ashleigh
Ashleigh graduated from Lenoir Rhyne University in 2004 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She spent her career working with pediatric patients in a variety of settings including homes, daycares, school systems, and outpatient clinics. She has extensive knowledge working with children who have sensory processing disorder, autism and ADD/ADHD. Ashleigh moved with her family to Naples, Florida in 2016. She opened Take Root Occupational Therapy, LLC in February 2019 to provided personalized child centered occupational therapy services.
Working with Take Root OT
Take Root Occupational Therapy serves clients in their homes, private school, or daycare in Naples, Florida.
Occupational Therapy services focus on the following areas: sensory processing, coordination, muscle strength, balance, attention, body awareness, use of both sides of the body (bilateral coordination), and motor planning. We can help with the following skill-sets: social, academic (handwriting, scissoring, attention to task), hand-eye coordination, visual perceptual, cognitive, fine and/or gross motor, self help (dressing, grooming, fasteners, feeding and simple meal prep).
